Wynn, Pierre and I had a little trip to Manfield today. :)

We went along to one of the Playday on track events held by the Playday guys.

Was a good day all in all, not major offs for the boys to report, apart from me half spinning it on the last corner on the first lap..

No mechanical failures, other than the normal cooked brakes and ATF fluid... :smash:

Here is some pics:

The three boys(me, Wynn and Pierre):

Wynn doing what looks like a handstand... Ness was actually taking a pic of the EF civic in the background(that funnily had a semi-major off):

Wynn and my cars in the pits all ready to go out:

Some pics of our cars out on the track:

Pierre and I all lined up to go again:

Oh and we seemed to be missing someone, oh yeah it was Wynn in the pits putting more fuel into his car.. :violin:
uploaded/3971/1260003718.jpg

Pierre and I going past a stricken Evo 2... Apparantly the factory oil pressure switch blew out at 6500rpm and it laid oil all the way around Higgins, Dunlop and up the main straight...

Pierre and I behind the saftey ute after oil was cleaned up for "familiarisation laps because they put cones one the oil line around Higgins and Dunlop...

And one of each of us powering down pit lane to start our laps. :)

All in all was a fun day to get 90-100km's around Manfield(could have done more but fuel surge and ATF temp owned me on my last session).

As the guys said, you will now be addicted... I am, now all I need to do is get the other half to buy her new car so the coupe can be converted to a caged track toy... :P

Five of the Wellington membership (including supporters) made a trip up country to Manfield (http://www.playdayontrack.co.nz/manfeild.html) for a Playday (http://www.playdayontrack.co.nz/) on Track meet.

The weather was fantastic and a good time was had by all. Minor issues made the day memorable including fuel or lack of for Wynn (VR4 MAD) , overheating auto trans oil for Jeremy (CANDEE) /wall and scare the ****e out of you stock brakes for Pierre (pbaron) /woot .

I was keen to try out the speed limiter removal reflash on the track, however the max speed reached on the track was 170ks on the front straight before the corner came rushing up, the speed limiter test had more show of being being reached in the passing lanes on the early morning trip up.

The most notable thing for me was that the trip from Wellington to Manfield, 20 laps at stock brakes pace, side trip through to P/North for KFC and then back to Wellington was all done on a single tank, filled at start and again on return taking 55.56 litres.

Some of the photos taken with my camera are below, Wynn has some on his camera that could be placed here also.

Thanks Nev! Was going to ask one of you guys to do it, when I realised we posted them at the same time lol. /thankyou

Was a good day, you realise how slow your car is when you are out on the track... The car felt fast again back on the road on the trip home.. :upsidedow

Well done guys. Jeremy - remind me what atf do you have and do you have a cooler? What level of fuel were you at when it starting surging?

Pierre - mate you're doing it wrong. I got through abotu 42l/100km out on the track at Taupo, you should have never been able to drive that far!

Am running std Mitsi ATF as far as im aware and am only running the factory cooler, it didnt complain at all the way home, apart from what I think was the warped disks/wheel alignment..

I was on the quarter mark, though had it bouncing up and down from 1/4-1/2 for about 2 sessions before that.. oh and got the fuel light come on after I had the surge moments coming onto the infield... When I came back in the needle settled about two notches above the e line and it was fine to drive the car into palmy and a little bit more... Was at about 250k's by the time we filled up, which included driving up. :P
