Hey guys, been a while since ive been on here.
Im sure this would have come up before sorry..
I need some new tyres for the legnum, havent bought new tyres for it for years so just wondering whats some decent tyres for the car, looking at around $200 a corner..
Or point me to any posts covering this..

Has anyone used the Bridgstone Potenza RE001?

What size?

I got some Potenza RE050s from a tyre place in Ham East for $180 each. They get the one's that Commodores are shipped with from Australia, but they get taken off when they get here and replaced with some other brand.

Hi. Based solely on your mentioned frequency of this site, I would assume you don't cover many km's in your car so forgive me if that assumption is incorrect.

Let's assume you have the bog standard 16x6 wheels then you'd have 205/55/16s. Hankook "Optima" were a reasonably choice at $165 per corner the last time I fitted them.

They were reasonably quiet, decent grip in the dry, adequate in wet and scored best in longevity and price. That said, I've never used Potenza RE 00 so can't say :)

I've got RE001's on my Turquoise VR-4 at the moment. They are good but perhaps not as good as Goodyear F1 GSD3's or I assume the new Asymm's

And I had those RE001's before Brad lol..

They are very quiet, expecially against the F1's... I never drove them completely worn in but they were fine for touring/slightly spirited driving.. Are prob not as good as the F1's are in the wet, but are still good.

I got my ones for about $800-900 for the set...

I had the car parked up for a while but now its back as my daily grind, so it will be getting some decent milage.
And shoulda said tyre size is 215 45 17.

It seems like the F1's are still the best option by the looks.. Anything else on par?

Thats pretty much the norm price for them these days. :) You will be lucky to get the new F1's for that price....

The f1s are awesome, i have a set of direzza's just now and they are a fairly good all round tyre and are very predicatable in letting you know what your limits are when pushed hard

Got the Potenza RE001's, theyre mint as completly different ride now. Half of it is probly the wheel alignment but alot smoother, insanely grippier quieter car.
No more bumps or niggles. Just makes me think how shocking the car was before!
Went back yesterday and got a wof.

Cheers Ray Garratt Tyres!!
