the lowest standard rear springs, or the softest??

basically need to lower the arse end of the ST without making it to low,
at the moment its got the facelift vr4 springs in the rear end,

which makes it look like a off road 4wd with ground clearance to spare

i know mitsi used different spring rates depending on variation,
and indicated this on there springs with a couple of colour markings

does anyone know the different colour codes and what spring rate they related to??

i would have thought any of the 2wd ones would be softest.

that would make sense but Ive seen a number of the 2wd models being sky high,
was hoping for a more definite answer,

like what colour codes matched what spring rates

I'd go for a 2wd Galant. You have no rear diff and no tailgate (50kg extra for legnums), so I would imagine a 2wd Galant would have the softest by quite some distance.

I don't have my laptop with me so I can't tell you which models have the same springs and what not.

Do you have a pic of how high it is with those springs? I could perhaps swap you for them on my ST-R with it's stock springs.

nah no pic's ive only got the the vr4 rears, sold the fronts a while ago,

ive got kyb lock ring seat hight adjustibles, set at max height
which is prefect for the ST, just need to bring the rear back down,
the jamex ones were to low and useless with anyone in the rear (sold now).

ive heard of people using the galant springs in legnums,
but im not so sure about it, mixed reports etc.

might have to chance my luck at pick-a-part next weekend,

got the 5zigen on now to,
looks good and not loud at all, so perfect.

I'm voting for pick a part too, just get some 2wd Legnum, 4wd Galant or 2wd Galant springs and see what happens. Have you checked on ASA to see which ones match up with what cars?

havent done the asa thing yet.......
basically ill take my EEE to pick a part and use chassis numbers so i dont get all the same.

ok got a couple of pic's

the front has 2 fingers between the guard and tyre, (kyb adjustibles)
and the rear has 4 fingers, (stock facelift vr4 shocks)

id like the rear to be the same as the fronts...

I'll swap them with my rear ST-R ones if you want? Shown here with 215/45/17 tyres.

same tyre size as the ST,

whats the chassis code on your STR,
ill see what springs its has

according to asa

the vr4 rear springs fitted are yellow/green-2

the origial 25st ones were blue-2
which should from what i can remember be about right.

just carjam'd your str
and got the chassis #

anyway it should have the blue-2 if they havent been changed???
so keen to swap

why do you want a higher STR??

The front is SO high it will just about match :) It will also be better for towing with stiffer and higher springs in the rear.

Also on my car it won't be as noticable because I'm running 215/50/17's
