Well some areas - especially the south east are having lots of snow this evening. Thought I would take a quick picture of my VR-4 in the snow, any others?

Sadly my drive is too steep to fit the Leggy down it - it would scrape the underside :( Although my summer car is in the garage

Thats cheap. Theres some garages round the corner from me that are rented from the council by local people. Only problem is the local chav scrotes hang around there and a few garages have been broken into, so its more dangerous leaving a car in there!

i went for a spin over the dublin mountains last night, the roads were a pure sheet of ice. nearly went straight through a few corners, zero traction at times. met a bmw 328 at the bottom of a slight (maybe 10 degrees) incline, wife and child in the back seat for weight over the drive wheels and he could not make it up.
Then after all my fun up the hills, coming onto the main motorway around dublin, floored it coming through the slip road and got very sideways, at 100km/h in 3rd. A little pee came out.

Those BMW are useless in the snow. When we had all that snow at the start of the year the amount of BMW's I saw stuck was unreal.

Yeah low profile tyres really are fun in snow

comming out of the shops ealier i set the evo into snow mode and floored it , watching other drivers panic as I start drifting around the roundabout .

Now do you think that was the cars fault or the drivers fault? I mean the 840 had no problems driving in the snow, infact it drove past most cars that had got stuck, car usually has nothing to do with it, usually find its the driver who.
A. Low profile tyres
B. Hasnt switched the traction control off
C. Hasnt switched it into ice/snow mode
D. Using to much power, spinning the tyres, compacting the snow, making it even more slippy.

Like I say the 840 had no problems in the snow earlier this year, all about how you drive

I was going to take the insurance off the VR4 this week, but at the chance of snow I might actually put some fuel in it and leave the insurance on for the week, did have a flutter earlier, I hope it snows soon though need to drop the insurance off the car.

Not always the car, but more that BMWs seem to have a propensity for attracting the kind of driver who just thinks, "I have a BMW so I can floor it and it will go", in greater numbers than other marques. Although I see it quite often with the Chelsea tractor brigade around Sheffield, too! :stars: Drive past them all in the Swift! :dalek:

There could be something in that Nev. There's a lot of people that just dont know how to drive in the snow.

Here's the VR2. Picture taken today. It'll stay snow covered like this as long as the roads here stay as snowed and slippery as they are now! Well... unless the boss buys me a set of 17" multi-spoke alloys with Vredestein wintertires ;)

As I can't get enough of it (although it's now starting to melt away slowly) this were a few pics from yesterday before cleaning the cars.

uploaded/1887/1261562614.jpg

And something tells me a heated garage should be used to... store at least 1 car?

Not wanting to start the Legnum vs Galant battle here - but I have found the rear spoiler on the Legnum is great at keeping the rear window mostly ice free /Nuuu One less window in the morning to clear is always good.
