what cars can and can not be jump started.

I got a knock this morning from a mate up the road asking if i had jump leads.
i do, but not in the VR4,
she asked me if i knew what was up with her car, other then the fact it was a vectra/haz
she said she dont think it is the battery as her lights still work and the tit at number 5 (the guy who threw break fluid over the vr4) said it wasn't it either.
so i asked her, "dose it make a clicky sound when you turn the key?"
and she said it did, well then its the battery that's flat.

the next bit did make me laugh, and it is news to me, so i thought i best let others know this bit of info, just in case you need to ever jump start your car/haz

According to Rider (tit at number 5), You can not jump start a car with a cat on it!
Now i never knew that!/haz

fecking tit!/duh

I usually have some cat food to lure the cat away from the car so that I can then actually carry out a jump start

Sounds like a dodgy starter motor - not a flat battery ?

i had a vectra before the legnum and never had a problem with it ...................................
apart from it burned 5 l of oil ever 1 k miles and the air con broke and the back box fell off twice and electrics packed up and rust in really annoying places and a gear box issue and lumpy idle and started motor buggered and engine managment light was always on and kinda never wanted to start. apart from this it was great . best car ever in fact./pan

usually 1 click = starter fault
serises of clicks = battery.

mesobitchy - i think your rider mate needs to hand his man card in

I thought a jump starting was fine
But a Bump start was a no no on cat fitted cars ( flood car with fuel the burns of on the cat meaning it gets too hot)
Running rich is also a no no on cat'd cars
