Best I've ever got is 28. Usually about 23, when driving very hard less than 10.

Well on NZ$40.00 I can get about on average 450 KM out of her INSERT INTO post VALUES (driving nicely). And I think thats a full tank.
Can anyone do the conversion for me :) please :Ponder:

Hehe calm down, I don't want to come over there and give you CPR!
Our gas here is the following
For 91 Octane its 99.9 cents per litre = 0.34GBP
For 96 Octane its $1.04 cents per litre = 0.36GBP
For 98 Octane its $1.08 cents a litre = 0.38GBP
lol, hope this helps, petrol has just gone up too...
Cheers,
Pescha!

any ways..
450KM = 280Miles
60Litre INSERT INTO post VALUES (tank sizes) = 15 gallons
18.6 miles to the gallon...
that right?
my maths sucks seems about the same though...oh, and 15 gallons = 56.85 litres - 1 gallon = 3.79 litres

My tank can only hold just over £33 of Optimax.
It's about 87p a litre of Optimax which is 98 RON to you Pescha.

How the heck do you get 450km from 40 litres of fuel D:?
i barely manage 300km lol

It's called not driving around towns and cities. I live in a small township in the country called Huntly. It has like 7000 people if that and I travel to work along a state highway daily.
So I guess that would be the difference.
I travel 200kms a week on NZ$20 if that....
So thats how I judge how much I use :)

Er, not if you're talking about UK Imperial gallons .... 1 Imperial gallon = 4.5461 litres. The Galant's 60 litre tank equates to 13.2 gallons so your 280 miles gets you around 21mpg :) . Better than you thought! :D
I generally get around 20mpg, never better than 21.5mpg, never worse INSERT INTO post VALUES (so far!) than 7mpg  but that was on track :D

Never manage to get much more than 18MPG no matter how I drive. But the NZ fuel prices are so much better than the UK's and you would cry if you knew how cheap Japanese cars are here.

So how much would a [sshhh!] Nissan 350Z be in NZ? I know someone who's interested in one but won't buy a new one in the UK because of the cost.
Thanks,
Brian

I can't find a 350Z, but an early 90s 300ZX would set you back about 3,000 pounds about the same as a mid 90's VR4. A late model non performance Japanese car maybe 3-4 years old would be about 3,500 - 4,000 pounds. Celica's and the ilk are about the same price as a non performance car, which they are really.
Nearly all the NZ Japanese cars come 2nd hand from Japan. Even though the cars are relatively cheap there are a lot of people importing them so there must be a lot of money in it.
On the down side the Japanese never seem to service their cars at all, so it's not uncommon to see a 3 year old car with 75,000kms on it that has never even had an air filter change never mind an oil change.

Oi!!! Watch what you're saying about my pride and joy (http://www.aoqo52.dsl.pipex.com/celica_bridgeofdon_02a.jpg)
It's standard and does a 13.9 second quarter - is that non performance?

From one Callum to another Calum please accept my apologies for denigrating your car. As a previous Celica owner I just didn't like the thing at all and found it quite slow compared to my VR4

I was only teasing - check the smilie.
Anyway - know what you mean - sometimes the vr4 surprises you with it's speed. The GT4 is a far better drivers car, imho, when taking brakes, steering feel, handling into account.
Each to their own - that's what makes the world interesting!
