1. Diff is fine;
2. 24mm socket, 10mm hex, 22mm spanner - preferably a ratchet one, and patience. Oh, and Louis's article/thread (http://www.clubvr4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=23198&highlight=ayc) is rather useful (although it shows the fitting of S-AYC, but very little difference otherwise)

And make sure you have sufficient ATF for both parts of the AYC, and gear oil for the other bit of the diff. Kieran's article on changing the AYC actuator fluid (http://www.clubvr4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=19528) will be handy too, along with the main article for changing the AYC clutch pack fluid and diff oi (http://www.clubvr4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=19626)l. :thumbsup:

Would also suggest:

A few bits of wood to go under the diff / between it and the jack - just in case.
A lever bar (sounds stupid but is essential).
A set of offset ring spanners aren't essential but are highly useful!

Other hints:
Just take the diff off the mounts, not the mounts off the car. Sorry Nev! :(
Get the rear bolts in first. They're annoying.
Don't do it in the dark.
Don't do it when the ambient temperature is less than 3 degrees.
