Hi guys, I'm converting my vr4 leggy to a van.
I was told by the doe tester that he needs a weight plate for information on laden weights front and rear axle etc

Apparently all non-jap cars have a weight plate with this info

Does anyone know where I can get this info?

thanks!

Why are you converting it into a van?

Have a chat with Tommie on here aka Kiteman, he runs his as a van. A Kildare man but a Dub at heart! lol

Alan, Van tax in Ireland is like 200 euro per year whereas the VR4 with its 2.5litre engine would be nearer 1000euro per year. Tax is based on engine size. Commercial tax is a flat rate! Hence if you can run a van then thats the way forward!

Yeah its me who has the VR4 van. I had the same problem for months before I could get it DOE'd.
None of the jap imports have the weight specs on the VIN plate' which is required for commercial DOE.
The info is on here somewhere, it was supplied by a member in Sweden if I recall correctly.
I'll see if I can find it and send it to you, otherwise I can mail a copy of my DOE cert to you and hopefully the tester will accept it regarding your legnum.
By the way, who did the conversion for you, also did you get the vehicle identity changed from a car to a van.

Sorry Kiteman, can't view your link. Had the doe test today, he said everything passed he just needs the weights from mitsubishi or a mitsubishi garage. if you could show me your doe cert that'd be great!

Thanks Kiteman, You're a geenius. I faxed that off today so hopefully it'll work. How you got that from Sweden, i don't know, but some great work there. Maybe one of the admins can give you some rep for this, I can't without reregistering i think.

Actually it was Peter Thompson sent it my way and I thanked him royally for it.
That Swedish cert is what got my van through the DOE.
Oh, and you're welcome .

Ps. maybe a mini (VR4van) meet some day
