Cool, get some photos up when you get it :), did you import it yourself or buy it through a UK importer?

Nice one Paul! When you've got over the initial playing with it, perhaps you could write an article about the self-import process?

I chose mine via Auto Square (Japan) but went through Bonsai Cars and it wasn't the best experience. I'm keen to do it myself in the future so any tips would be useful.

It's here! I must say the sellers pictures didn't do it justice. Needs a good wash and polish and a couple of bits t-cutting but apart from that it's excellent.

How do I post pictures?

Have yet to drive it. Power steering pump was noisy but the addition of some fluid has cured that. No dents anywhere. Interior is perfect. Tyres are good. The stereo may have a problem but that might be me. Need to wait for paperwork from HMRC then can sort out getting it on the road. So far it is far better than I feared it might be.

I would put some pictures up but don't know how to!!

Download gimp for free then scale the image to 1024X768 then upload it on here.

Click "manage attachments" and then browse to the file on your PC. As long as your photos are less than about 1000 pixels wide, all should be good! :D

AncientofMu did a good self-import write up a while ago, but it would be good to hear yours too. I am planning on importing my next one myself at some point.

Double check the tyres!, even if they are in good nick.
The car will have a speed limiter on it so your top speed will be limited to 112 mph.
and in Japan the tyres will be speed rated to match the 112mph.
So once you get it delimited, you will be able to out perform the rating on the tyres which could cause you probs.
Are you going to SVA it yourself or do you have a company at the docks to do that bit?

Don't need to SVA anymore. Just needs to pass an MOT. Got to fit a foglight. Any thoughts on these on ebay? Item no. 390151558786.

Looking good and very original Paul! :)

Four mini hints -
1. Don't lean on the plastic engine cover because they crack
2. Watch out for rust patches inside the engine bay around the top of the suspension struts - area seems prone to it and there might be a small patch showing in one of your pics
3. If you can, change as many of the oils/fluids as you are able to - there's walk-throughs on the forum
4. Drive it like you stole it! :D

As for foglights, some clever people incorporate them into the rear light clusters.

Other's cut them into the rear bumper.

And a few of us have the dangly things mounted on the underside of the bumper (thanks Bonsai!)
