What a ludicrous procedure to have to perform and for such a simple task (ordinarily.)

I have to admit that I needed to check out that it was actually on a website, it looked like such a work of fiction.

that's the same as quite a few cars nowadays. My Dad's Rover 75 is exactly the same as that.

Dang, newfounded creations.

Safe sex may well benefit via the use of covering up but I can't see how anyone benefits from doing the same to cars. . . .

. . . burn fossil-fuels and the environment still gets ****ed up !

Because people who actually work on their own cars are a rare and dying breed, especially in frarnts.

Dealerships can charge you the earth for a simple task that would only take minutes once upon a time by joe blogs.

Astra 2004-2009 is the same..zafira too .. on a meriva diesel you have to pull the battery.. dont get me started on the new beetle.

On the Smart you have to remove the nose!! but it can be done(albeit painfully) without doing so.. if you drop the clip that holds the bulb..youll defo need to pull the nose off..

BMWs ,Mercs and most Audis are easy

and its not as if the VR4 bulbs are that easy to change too, especially with the battery in the way.

Look at all the bits off the car if you take out the headlight unit!

Mine were easy to change . . .

. . . although one side took only two minutes to do, the other side took two hours :furious4: !

Its done so the dealers can charge you a fortune to change the bulb, and make more money. Read an article in the guardian a while back that discussed this. On my sisters polo I had to take the battery out to change a bulb, and her a3 is worse. Had to remove the rear units completely just to change a brake light bulb
