You may find that posting up whether it is a prefacelift or facelift version to be useful to your sale quest. And pics. I always like pics of facelift white Leggies! :)

It is a PFL as they didn't make manual facelifts until may 99

Thanks.
Thought I would give a bit more details on history.
Car is regularly serviced (used to be by Mitsubishi in Auckland, now with Road Race & Rally in Panmure). Apart from the usual checks and oil/filters stuff, we replaced the following parts:
- Octobre 2007 (94052 kms): Replace rotors and brake pads; replace spark plugs (NGK platinum); replace water pump, cam belt and tensioner (all genuine new parts); replace P/S bearing in pulley; replace alternator belt; replace AC belt.

- March 2008 (96625 kms): replace clutch (incl PP, CP and brg) and machine flywheel; replace RF banana lower arm.

- July 2008: change battery

- December 2009 (105311 kms): replace tensioner pulley.

Tyres: Bridgestone Potenza - RE001 Adrenalin 205/55R16 91W - filled with Nitrogen mix. 2 tyres newish (december 2008) - 2 tyres might need replacing soon (can be arranged prior to sale if required).
Car is fitted with a Dynatron alarm (5 star) - really good stuff as people broke into the car 3 times and never got it to start /Devil5 - I have since had the car detagged and had no further intrusion (still got one tag; other one was broken by Mitsi when removed).

Agreed, good example except your engine oil cover is upside down :p

I wonder if my rear windscreen was replaced at some point as I don't have anywhere near the same level of tint as you do... unless you've had them tinted at some point?

I didn't, but it was maybe done by the first owner in Japan. The car was already like that when I picked it up.

What he said! Why don't you sell the other car instead? :beerbang:

Brad, I bought it at 59,000kms.

Ryan, the other car is a 4 year old Mazda 6 MPS that costs a lot less than the Legnum to run. Don't get me wrong, it is going to be difficult to sell it. However, I am no petrolhead so the car goes to garage everytime something sounds wrong. The guys are very good but hours of labour are not cheap and they tend to accumulate for this type of car.
Like I said, I really want the car to be bought by somebody who cares and will not crash it on first weekend out.
They are a few scratches on bumper and right sides, but just superficial (undercoat is still on). That can be fixed if required.

Hey Fuel, if showing content of private messages is your thing, you may as well put all the information provided in them.

Like I said, I am thinking of NZD 10,000 but am happy to discuss.

fuel

why does the price have to be so private? It's actually more annoying looking at a car and having no idea what price value they are wanting in the ad, only to inquire and find its out of your range or perhaps more you want to spend on it anyway, thus wasting time asking.

although duly noted I did not include that you would not sell it for under $8,800, but you did specifically say you were wanting around $10k.

gerryli

Asking price does not have to be private, but three other persons contacted me privately to find out about the price (and they all got the same answer). So maybe think about what is important for others. The fact that I replied to you privately should have been a clue too...or maybe not in your case.

So 8.8K bottom - 10K top: somewhere in between.

I love the car, but I don't see it happening. Put it on trademe for $6k and have the reserve at $10k. See how many bids you get.

I'm not trying to cause an argument.. but isn't that proving my point? The fact that three people asked you for the price? surely it could have saved the hassle of them asking for the price and you having to state the same thing three times, all of which would have been avoided if you simply stated the price to begin with. How many of those three continued with interest after you told them the price?

2 of them and a dealership...

I totally get your point, but as people started sendind emails about price, I thought it was the way to go here. Had you post come first, I would have put the price on the thread.

im sorry but if you get 5k ill be surprised and i guarantee you the dealership(stalership)wont give you more than 4500,its a PFL,my last one in my picture below sold for $5500,it had EVRYTHING In and ON it,but as previously mentiond add-ons are not adding value, but they where brand new 18's,custom Sound System with a $800 Subwoofer custom Box install, alloy kick panels, tints, rear banana wing, rear Flare extensions,Fuji Exhaust,FMIC,BOV,hard piping,Custom Front Bumper,Facelift Bonnet,Facelift Grille,Alarm,Facelift Interior and the list can keep going but the point is your car is nice but theyv slowly exitd their good price range..

and as far a sthe pricing goes on OZVR4 we are obligated to have CLEAR Pics with a fair Price visible or we get rucked,so i feel maby CVR4 should have the same...

Agree...but it only takes one very interested person for the price to become right.
Thanks for the advice. I will let you know how things go.

Sometimes people pay more for a clean tidy unmolested example of a car, and gerryli has just that, but perhaps even $8800 is a bit optimistic. I would say $6000-7500 is a bit more realistic. While it is a 98 model it is still PFL.

And yes most forums I am on have it in the rules for posting in the for sale section that you must state a price. I was surprised to see it wasn't in the rules here to be honest.

This is probably the only direct comparison one I could find on trademe - http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Cars/Mitsubishi/legnum/auction-268207860.htm

Must say, i would rather pay a higher price for an original and clean legnum like this one, then having one that has had bits from here and there added on to it e.t.c
I did ask privately for the price and had no problem with that, but thought it would prob go for what you guys say aswell $6k to $6800.
It is a nice example for sure which are getting hard to find :)
