I need to get the Bilstein dampers on my car refurbed as one has completely lost its damping and I'm sure the others wont be far behind. Ive looked at Bilsteins website and they dont seem to have an office in the uk, so to get them done through them would involve international postage.
Has anyone had any success with local engineering firms for suspension rebuilds?

Nope. I tried a couple and they basically said there was no point - it would cost more than a new set to refurb them. That was on standard KYB stuff - maybe different makes would give different results.

It could just be I was talking to the wrong people - but I liked the thought train that you are catching now, so I stopped looking just incase I de-railed it! :D

Its funny to think that 2 weeks ago it was sold ready to go to its new owner, now I'm keeping it and ploughing large amounts of money into it!
Oh well, its cheaper than the wife and I'll get more of a chance to enjoy it!
