last time they had it at a track (last year they went bush and went off roading in Q7's) the R8 hadnt been officially released so they had the only one in the country there. the person who got the fastest lap got to do a couple of laps in it.

im most looking forward to the S5 and RS6

i want an audi......really ... A collegue of mine (the one I bought the exhaust of) has one and because he has to go to the dealer everytime time his engine warnimg light comes on for every little "bleeding" thing the computer monitors and not being able to see what is wrong has cost him a fortune. He has an A4 1.8T.

That said ... One of the reasons, why I got the VR-4 was the success of the 4WD on the rally circuits, by initially Audi. But like all good things, the Japanese copied it and made it reliable, cheaper and enhanced it with things like AYC, etc.

And if I was to ever get an Audi it may be an S4/S5 ... so tell us about the S5 :D

The S5 is indeed a good looking car. Much better looking than that stupid R8

didnt get a go in the s5 :( they were going hard out with the new A5 sportback. i was actually very impressed with it....even if it was a diesel!!

they car that suprised me the most was the s3 sportback. we did a slalom run it that.

but of course the best car there was the RS6....what a ****en awesome car that thing is! esp when i got to ride shot gun with tim martin (of GT3 and nurburgring 24h fame) in it. complete opposite lock at 135km/h. it moved like a small hatch back! it got up to 214km/h on the front straight where as the R8 was 15km/h fast...but not as fun in the corners!!

it was a very good day. 3 teams of 8 and we all got an instructor. our intructor was emma gilmour. there was also jonny ried and the dude who taught scott dixon how to drive. the likes of earl bamber and mitch evans were on stop watch duty.

pics to come when i get them off my work mate

Is she the one that did Nürburgring in a Ford Transit Van in just over 10 minutes or was that Sabine Schmitz ?

It was Sabine Schmidt

That picture does make her look very slightly like Sabine though.

214kmh on the front straight isn't that fast, my VR-4 does about 205! What were they down the back straight?
