Yes, it's a football thread, so if your not interested in football..... look away now & get back to your knitting or summat! :singer:
Engerland has bid for the 2018 world cup....... Sheffield has been selected as one of the host cities should the bid be successful.
We have 2 stadia in sheffield, bramall lane, home of sheffield united, & hillsborough, home of sheffield wednesday.
Bramall lane 1st;
Over the past few years, the ground has been rebuilt with the world cup in mind. 44,000 seats, coreperate boxes to 2 sides, hotels, luxury appartments...... one of the best stadiums in the country, & a club on a sound financial footing.
Hillsborough;
Has not had a lick of paint since 1966 when they last hosted the event. the club are £26,000.000 in debt & are facing relegation & a winding up order. no boxes, no coreperate facilities, the pitch slopes 5ft from one end to the other!
It will cost millions to put right.
So which ground did the FA choose ?? yep.............
Hillsborough!! It beggars belief /catfight :shocked: :singer:
