Hi, Have just been looking at various vr4's online and saw one with the standard seats but instead of the red patterns it had blue. Was this an option as all the others I've seen have the red pattern. It was a facelift model if that helps. Tried searching for it again so could add a pic but cant find it now!!! :furious3:

The facelifts did have the option of blue or red flecked seats. There was also the super rare Recaros, and then there was the leathers.

If Recaros float your boat, they are doable in the VR4 if you fabricate the seat mounts. Actually ANY seat is doable as long as you fabricate the mounts.

Those are the early facelift recaro's and super VR-4 recaro's. From May 2000 they changed to grey suede.

The red fleck seats with the same pattern as the above recaro's were standard for all early facelifts as well.

The blue fleck seats are NOT a VR-4 seat, they were standard in early facelift Viento's. They are the same seat and same design as a VR-4 seat, just different colours.

Just what I was thinking, for the UK market. The blues were standard on the Sport / Classic / Equipe models here.

If I remember correctly from a V6 Sport test drive at a dealer at the time, the blue fleck seats were no where near as comfortable as their VR4 red flecks - just a 'cheap' immitation.

The blue/red flecks are the same seats. The recaros only came in the red fleck though, as I believe did all VR4's. Blue fleck was for other models, as stated. The Recaros in the later cars that Brad mentioned are the best variation in my opinion.

I've got them in mine too - from a 1.8 GDI.

Much better than beige leather and less old pub fabric than the standard pre-facelift items.

If you not scared of fabricating mounts and rails, then you can also use Recaros from Vauxhall. Actually the same as in VR4.
Other option are seats from Evo or Honda's.
Cheap budget option are MOMO's from FTO.

If you not scared of fabricating mounts and rails, then you can also use ...
Any seats you want as long as they physically fit in the car. :karate:

Or for regular trackday fun, fit one front Recaro or whatever and leave passenger side empty...

Then as trackday insanity takes over...

...move steering wheel and seat to middle...

Got yourself a DIY Mclaren...
