Different types of bonnet?

Hey all, long time lurker first time poster.
I made my dream come true just before Christmas and bought a 2002 Galant 2.0 Classic for a note over £1000 (can't afford a VR4, let alone the insurance :sad3:). I'm now beginning to fully discover why it was so cheap.
Several bodyshops I've spoken to reckon the car needs an entirely new bonnet since the rust around the lip is breaking through from inside the metal, and I'm trying to source a brand new one for them to spray. Problem is my local Mitsu dealer reckons there are two different model numbers for bonnets for the car, these are as follows:

1997 - 1998 MR296745
1998 - 2003 MR439096

My question is this - is there actually two different models of bonnet for the Galant/Legnum, and if so what's the difference?

first off welcome to the site,

any 8g bonnet will fit, but yours would have had the 1998 onwards one, what colour do you need? there is several on here being broken

Ideally after a Pyrenees Black bonnet since it would save me a few quid at the bodyshop getting it resprayed.

Or, of course, you could buy a glass fibre one from Don with a vent in it and get it painted if you prefer. I'd get the one PSB has just shown you, though :)

Either bonnet will fit, the difference is that the facelift (98 to 03) ones have a bigger bulge in the centre
