It can depend on what price you can buy the car back from the insurance company.

Depends on the damage, but you might be able to ask for a cash in lieu (CIL) settlement, where they give you the repair money and you keep the car.

They're more likely to do it for things like paint damage and non-structural stuff, but it's usually worth asking anyway.

Downer, sorry to hear that. More than a few years old and it is very often a write-off, insurance wise.

Didn't even manage to get the new lambda sensor bedded-in.

Good luck with checking other possible options, Funky /googleit

found out why the said its uneconomical, they couldn;t find it in the cap book or autotrader so did a price of a uk 2.5 v6...hence 1500 value, got them to find a manual vr4 at ebony and ivory so find out tomoz if it will be repaired of offer me cash in lieu .

big smile, would of been a shame for a manual vr4 to be written off due to a honda civic muppet

Excellent news! I sometimes think the insurance companies are too quick to write off cars.

(Still smarting over payout for 300ZX...)

That was quick. Pleased for you, mate. It would've been a shame, as you say.
