Is it ok to chop this

There was a discussion this morning in chat were wintertidenz was asking if its ok to chop this off his intercooler pipe.

I think its ok as my hard pipes don't have it, and his isn't bolted. But what do people think

yeh go for it, i have chopped the lower one off mine to make a tad more space for the FMIC

So it is the support bracket. Well yeah, I guess it's not needed but the stock hard pipes are heavier than the alloy after market ones I've used. Mind you, a lot of people use stainless without support and I imagine they're as heavy as stock.

Mine aren't connected, although I couldn't be arsed to remove the pipe and hack it off. One day, when I re-do all the piework to fit my TD05s </wake from dream> :D

But it should be fine to chop it off :thumbsup:

Thanks Adie for finding the pic, and thanks to all that have replied :D

I will be looking for other ways to secure the pipe once I've chopped that piece ;) probably with cable ties!
