Newbie with a Speedo Fault on 1996 Legnum

hey guys im new here and was just wondering if any1 nos why my speedo doesnt work

It's a very random thread title compared to the question!


Is the speedo lighting up and are all other dials working? I assume that it still isn't working when the car is moving?!

Might be worth giving the plugs a clean on top of the gearbox. Sounds like an electrical issue, really.

Yep, assuming the rest of the dash works, and its just the needle on the speedo not moving, it is likely either a loose wire, dodgy connection, or the sensor on the gearbox may have failed or something.

I would work through it systematically starting at the sensor, and if all else fails try putting in someone elses cluster to see if it cures it.
