Gratefull to hear if anyone knows anything about this (R974 CAK) as I`m about 20 hours away from buying it and taking a risk on the problem it has, namely, hesitates before pulling off, but only when it`s cold.
Thanks, by the way, to those of you who kindly responded yesterday. Mike.

I can live with that for a while. should be easy enough to source another, should`nt it. I had a couple of Legnums before and stupidly went onto a soarer gt tt, 15 mpg if I`m lucky. Nice car though

Used to live in Churchdown, myself, as well as various other bits of Gloucester/Gloucestershire.

In another twist of fate, I am 99% certain that this car used to live barely a few miles away up here in Chesterfield, it possibly belonging to a workmate of Johnny_Cashed's.

Hmmm, if that is the same legnum, last I heard it was being written off after a rear end bump as the boot floor was buckled. Also, if you look on the rear passenger side you'll see another dent. I think the rear-ender was from someone hitting him from behind while he was stationary, and I think the rear quarter dent was from someone reversing into the car while it was parked. Had a HUGE exhaust though.

TBH, for the money you could get a much better car without the protential problem or the bodywork damage. I noticed that the passenger rear quarter was dented behind the wheel, not a nice place to repair.

It looks like a right nail to be honest. Poor presentation, poor spelling from a garage, spurious claims about it's power and obvious problems as it stands and a price tag of £2800? You'd have to be nuts to even have a look at it!

I would if I had the money. I need to sell my Soarer first, or swap it. (For a Legnum)

Good point, but as im sure you know, you dont want to get a dud just cuz its there, as these cars can come with many issues!!
Personally i recon you'd be better waiting till you sold the soarer, and get a good vr4 for your money than just getting one because its convienient.
Think you'd be better off spending any extra cash on a minter than a fixer upper.
Just speaking from experience as i swapped a perfectly good mgzt for my first vr4 and it got ugly....... Good luck either way fellow churchdownian /lol
