ooooooo ive got a soft spot for tornados!!! oh and phantoms!!

ive been up in a tornado when i was in cadets, but never had the chance to go up in a phantom. I really must look into this

Indeed i do ive been in that one when it was at Waddington!!! never ben in the air in it tho, but iirc it was just before it was decomissioned.

Ahhh nostalgia, the black aircraft is a Blackburn / Hawker Siddeley Mk 50 and the plane behind it is of course an English Electric Lightning both operated by Thunder City at Cape Town International airport.

South Africa was the only country apart from Britain to operate the Bucc (24 SQN).

from all these photos of planes you've been putting up ryan i'm guess'n when you was a young'n you wanted to be in the air force... so why join the army?

You bet I did! To be honest, just too lazy at school and didn't get the required grades to be considered for the flightline. Something I quite regret but hey... that's life. One day when I'm rolling in money I'll get a PPL.

You bet! I've since found out that one of the blokes I was in primary school with is a MAJ in the SAAF and is now one of the newest members of the Silver Falcons display team.
