So, some of you will know that I had my subs stolen. A blessing in disguise maybe? Now I get a custom install and 2 x Alpine Type R 12" to go in. Done by my partner, Paul of VAS Vehicle Audio and Security, with only a little assistance from me, though I seem to have gotten the most covered in sawdust!

Stripped out

Hard at work.

Bottom of floor box down, sub box in. Don't know if you can see, but inside the sub box is graduated and the back is on a tilt, to go over that metal railing and fit snug up against the back seats. So it fits in nicely.

Front plate on, top of floor box on.

Now what's needed is to put the holes in for the subs, and for the amps in the floor, the top of the amps will be sitting flush with the floor, so they can be seen. And to carpet!

The Fusion is just a filler sub for now. Will be getting my other Alpine in a few days. Fusion not connected. Will update with new photo when finished.

He's wanting to make this a sound off car apparently. So next steps would be more powerful amp to run the speakers, better front door speakers, and going to sound deaden the roof and boot.

Well I had been on and off with him since end of November. We had a break and sorted things out and now happier than ever and ready to make a proper go at it.

Nah, not the same guy you met...not after he was taken away in hand cuffs after hitting me.

Yes, this whole exericse was with the understanding I can still access my spare wheel, if you see in the floor, there's a notch cut out for my hand hold, and it had to be light enough I could actually lift it up because I didn't want to lose that. That whole middle piece can very nearly lift out, aside from the cables and such obviously.

Looking very nice :)

Will the subs be easily removable, too, in case you wish to utilise it's load-carrying ability again?

Haha they can be removed, but not easily. I wanted it so that was the case as it might deter more theft, though now my alarm's actually working...

Looks very pro!
I'm assuming you don't carry stuff around in the boot that's liable to damage the subs?

No, aside from dogs, boot doesn't get utilised much anyways, I've got a thick bit of carpet with velcro for when dogs are in.

Haha subs get turned off when they in back.

Yeah the amp running my speakers is the next upgrade :)

Now got the Pioneer TSD-1720 components in the front. Brand new, got given to me in return for doing his website hehe. Who says nerdy skills don't come in handy!

Boot lid and doors have now been dynamatted, only roof to do now. It's sounding extremely good.
