We survived!. We got on really well to be honest. first run out not many people about. First time with filter and exchaust fitted......great improvement over standard. 2nd time led for 3 of the 5 laps! got all the right lines....great. Asusual last lap the lighter cars caught up eg 172 Clio sport but they could out break us but we were able to out drag them to the next corner. I need 17'' alloys and brembo brakes. 3rd time even better....even out dragging caterham kit cars etc. very hot day...and now my exch' pipe has gone gold colour!!! looks ok but i guess it got hot INSERT INTO post VALUES (track was up to about 30 degrees saturday!) Engine was fine...will go better once i sort out heat sheild for air intake.

Nice and shiney!!!! Cant wait to go again.

the Aston was fast but gave way to others to "protect" itself. Also there were:- Porsche GT3, Noble, BMW thing:D Aston,a couple of Evo's, Ferrari 355, Racing Cossie, Racing Beetle, lots of novas, lots of pugs etc, 1 x VR4 very exclusive you know...had a fair few people come up and talk....directed them to the web site.:cool1: Mr Norris in GTR gave a show also a guy in an old Cossie, drifting most corners. I think the lancer web site should have some xtra pics.

I take it Mr Norris' EVO was not there following the "little" accident it had in the hands of Top Gear - if anyone saw last nights programme you will know what I mean !

Did you also see the Rover 220 Turbo who's engine seized on the warm-down lap ? Apparantly it spun out when it seized then dumped it's water all over the track. It was a club member from my bro's club and he is gutted as the engine is a write off !

Simon

Missed the Rover! but saw plenty of others over cooking it! An XR escort lost it and ended up driving through a corn foeld! a Caterham with front smashed in along with a nova and pug....the list goes on. Im just glad we went out, had a good time and was able to drive home.:D

Great pics Simon! top stuff.

All those idiots leaving the track are what stop me from taking mine on.
Sounds like you had a good time though!
What does this Exhaust look like then? would the colour change back if polished with Brasso or something?

Heat shield for the filter would probably work a treat, you will probably have more power from the exhaust now as it has run in quite abit now INSERT INTO post VALUES (at least that works for cheap throw away exhausts).

Next Castle Combe track day!

The exchaust pipe has gone gold'ish in colour although the back box fades back into "silver". Will take a picture of it. Doesn't want to clean off....looks ok i suppose. Also on there way are some professioanl pics of the day....should be good.

Cant complain about these ones.......waited a while....but top quality. Came through on CD and at a size that they could be printed larger than A3 straight away!!! took a while to resize to get them on the site! Just have to find a decent printer to print them off!:devil1:

I have to agree....they are clear!. Just been to borrow someones expensive printer! Without resizing, a single image would have printed out on 15 pages of A4! Very V.V high resolution. The files are "HUGE". Took a while for the printer to sort its self out but they printed out a treat.

A Mr J Gaisfird has to take the credit. He's a local professional photographer....always at Castle Combe. Worth every penny. Normally order the pics individually but can now request a CD with all pics. They its easier to e-mail etc. Now counting the days until next Castle Combe meeting....Classic & Sports Car Day in September........not long!:D
