Chain or belt

Hi, can anyone please tell me whether my 2001 2.5 v6 galant will have a cam belt or a cam chain. Also i have been told that it has hydraulic tappits is this true because it seems to tap on start up when cold.

My tappets are always noisy on startup. My car's done 110 000 miles though...

I've got a couple of bottles of that stuff but chickened out of using it - scared of clogging up the oil flow. Is there any reported probs from using it ??

I use Magnatec 10w-40. Sounds tappety whether hot or cold and does mainly motorway miles. Doesn't seem to affect performance...thinks its pretty normal
