Might have got me tonight! :lipsrseal

On meadowhead in Sheffield. Spotted it late & hit the brakes. A quick glance at the speedo showed 40 mph. The limit is 30.

No need for a bloody camera to be on that road at 9 @ night ! :curtain:

The dual carriageway? If so, that's 40. But I'm guessing you mean another bit.

Bah!

Going towards The Abbey? That's always evil, setting up a speed camera on a downhill section...

In NZ you don't receive points off your licence if caught speeding by camera. Is it the same in the UK?

Sometimes on first offence you can take the option of a sort of driver training day + fine rather than points. But otherwise yes, its points on licence and fine

Surely a carer of some experience, with responsibility and social standing should NOT be anywhere the speed limit...

Neve mind the points, your licence to care 0065, might be taken away...

Surely the camera won't have picked up the number plate while Derek was sideways-on in mid-drift! /rally

you'd be suprised what they pick up. i was travelling 62 in a 50km/hr zone a few years back, in a group of four cars. I was in the middle, the camera flashed 4 times. i have no idea how i got my plate as i was relatively close to the car in front of me. (he had suddenly slowed down without warning (probably because of the camera) and i had just hit the brakes too.)

I had a day out at Buxton Magistrates on Monday contesting a speeding charge (I declined the fixed penalty). Found guilty but the mag's clearly hadn't understood the issues put forward in my defence, so I will be appealing.

I got done doing 38 in a 30 at 7am on a 3 lane one way road, as it was my first offence and i was not too far over the limit they offered me a coarse, so £60 to do the coarse and no points. You might be lucky.

You might be lucky.
Derek is often lucky.

It's just no-one ever know at which end of the scale that the luck's going to appear! :stars:
