Searching high and low for a "RS" LSD, not having much luck.

Thanks

I suspect he's looking for an Evo 4 RS LSD diff like what Gowf has.

Sorry, it was the evo 4, non AYC.
Tricky to find.

But anyways, are there EVO spare part websites people know of, or wreckers?
Thanks again

Ive got an evo 7, they are different in terms of mounting position but its kinda taken up in the shafts.

You will need diff and shafts. Dont wory about all the mounting bracketry (it wont fit) you just have to modify the rear subframe slightly to get it to fit nicely.

To be honest, all the shafts from all the evo's are different lengths. The 7's fit the leggie's really nicely (well ones a bit long but the inner cup is deep enough to accomodate.

From what im led to believe the RS is an ATB LSD, which is fine, but you really want to upgrade that to a plate diff. Problem you then have is that you need to service them anualy (not just an oil change).

With regards to replacing the ayc internals for plate, you still have the weak casing issues and to be honest, the cost is pretty ridiculous although cheaper initialy than going down the RS route. Once youve got the RS diff in there, repair/replace is considerably cheaper

Found a ex rally RS diff, Plate LSD.
But its a 3.9-1?? Wtf I thought they were all around 3.3?

It may be from an EVO 1-3 then. You do want it to be 3.3125 or 3.307

The RVR's LSD is 3.909:1. Is that standard for Evo 1-3 then?

bradc

EVO 1-3 is 3.909, unsure about minibuses

So the evo 6-9 all have the 3.3 around abouts ratios then?
Trying to define what im searching for :P
Got so excited seeing a RS diff for 200$...

I keep on getting a mixed message from different parties, a company called Meek automotive in Sydney Aus, that deal completely with evo's and legnum's, telling me that there is extensive work needed in fitting a Evo 6-9 diff, not just a couple of spacers...

Cant get a up right answer, just going to get a stock replacement diff, baby the bloody car or sell it. :(

pffft, meek smeek, i love these garages that make things sound harder than it is so that can make a profit, ive heard things about meek and they arnt always good. over rated and over priced.

swap on the prop shaft flange from the vr4 diff to the new evo one
just 2 10mm spacers on the evo diff at the rear mount points,
its a bit harder to fill because the filler sits higher some people fill before they fully lift it in place,

if the members on here can do it on a garage floor and no special equipment,
it is just as simple as that

Well, so do we (kind of) - but not to make money!

An SAYC diff from the Evo 8 fits with the ONLY addition being two 10mm spacers (although I understand that Louis (poss?) fitted his without using even these!

As Gowf says, you may need the driveshafts as well with some of the diffs, but the part is interchangeable.

if you want LSD into rear diff

get rear diff from vr-4 type V (or from atmo EC) with axels, and get lsd from stock evo 1-9 RS, or tunned for RS.

if you want LSD to AYC diff, then you can get tunned lsd made for evo 4-5 with AYC. (but it's not good idea)

What Carsten said ^^^

EVO 4-9 diffs fit pretty much straight in. Meek don't know everything, we do :)

We should refer them to this website, thats what I did with my mechanic, and he checks stuff he doesn't understand properly before saying, "Nah mate, can't be done...."

I have a type v diff and axles in my legnum as my ayc gave up, but what i understand you have said here is that If i can track down any evo lsd it should bolt into the type v casing.
If so great news for me :)
