Cheers Nev.

Gona have to measure mine..

The down pipe and bendy bits are standard, but the centre section is tanabe , im sure its 3"

wondering if a 3" would fit ok.. time to get the tape measure out I think

cancelled that above decat now. gona look again for a 4/5/6, or proper legnum one.

3" will fit fine, as the flange bolts are the same spacing on the 2.25" standard exhaust as the 3".

It seems our cars have a 14" long cat; many cars inc. the 7/8/9 Evos have a 17" one. I would like one with a built-in resonator similar to this;

That would be my ideal decat, but it's just too expensive. At that price it's almost as much as a sports cat. I'm sure it would last a lot longer than a cheap sports cat, but I'm not sure how much longer I'll be keeping the car, so I'm starting to think a bit short-term.

Ive emailed the guy to see how flexable he is on price, been looking for the 'right' decat for weeks now. apparantly there only up the road from me in salisbury, may take a run up to janspeed and do a bit of haggling.
My exhaust system is just cat then center pipe with a backbox, no middle silencer so if fitting a decat a res would be ideal.
I did ask the local exhaust pipe benders at P/flow down the road in boscombe, just to get a price and an idea ,and they quoted me 140 fitted to make up a res box decat. ...? ripoff..hmmm

Not sure, but the 4, 5, 6 ones do.

this one is apparantly off of an EVO 5

28 quid he wants for it. hmmm dunno... your opinion is greatly apreciated for me not making the decision..lol :)

That would do the job. How noisy is the exhaust at the moment?
I'm going to leave the cat on for now, until I've sorted out a new exhaust and got the MOT out of the way, then take it from there.

God, I hope it fits  Still, the gaskets seem to fetch a tenner plus postage, so you can't have gone far wrong. And I've just given your video 5 stars/GJ

Same ere, if it doesnt fit ill bung it back on ebay, im sure it would sell on quick.
I got quite impatient today thinking about it, so i nipped down to the local ATS to see if one of the lads would swap it over for me, they all shook there heads and one explained policy..insurance against failure, health n saftey etc etc.. gone are the days of some one doing something in there lunchbreak for a cash drink. never mind, ill have to wait for the weekend and get my trusty jack out.

Good! Has it made much difference to the sound level, rather than the loveliness? I mean, has the car become a lot more anti-social?

its still loud, very loud, actually , when you boot it a bit its very very very very loud, but oooh so lovely.

the difference from cat to decat is that it seems to of cut the drone noise, the bassy hummmmmmmmmmmmmmm that gave me a headache. its now a bit more growly.. hard to explain a noise.

Also the car feels alot more alive too, the dump valve sounds louder too?? not sure if thats my ears playing games on me, just seems louder!?

Still have to put the baffle in the back for the wife n kids to keep the dB at bay ... and ill take it out for 'fun driving days' :)

Ill try and get a video clip over the weekend.

all in all..im very happy indeed.. thanks for all your help in choosing the right one.. and also saving me £££££'s , I did get a quote at powerflow £140, after all your help I got my second hand 'evo4' decat from ebay for £28 inc P&P ,gaskets and bolts .would never of known it fits if werent for clubvr4.com ,nice one!
