i am going to get some replacement top shock mounts but they do not come with replacement metal sleeves that slide through them. the ones i have are rusty, and once cleaned up they are loose in the bushing.

the ones i need are 39mm long, 10.5mm ID, 14mm OD.

or can someone suggest a material i can make them out of e.g. buy a tube and cut it down. Obviously mild steel tube is not going to be hard enough. but i don't what it should be.

any help will be greatly received.

it is the top of the front shock.
there are two bushes that go either side of the top mount and the metal sleeve goes inside these bushes.
the nut in the middle of the shock that you can see from the top of the wing under the bonnet, tightens down on to the top of this metal sleeve.

i am sure any supplier of suspension metal insert will have one of the correct size, i just don't know where to get it from.

or a supplier of hardened steel tube of the correct diameter that i can cut down to size.
