as you may or may not know i have reverted back to 2 wheels for my fun and enjoyment for a little while and my question is.
my bike has led indicators fitted but they flash quickly so i know i need a resistor in one of the wires so i am looking at this

http://uk.rs-online.com/web/search/searchBrowseAction.html?method=getProduct&R=6150511
do i need on for each wire on each indicator or just one on one wire per indicator?

no you need a led flasher unit

Or put the resistor inline with the regular flasher unit - that should be sufficient. Ideally you want to mount it somewhere that will sink heat and away from any water / moisure etc.

But if your flasher unit is a two wire one, then it just needs to go inline with the wire to the indicator switch.

if you don't want to chop your wires.....
you can buy replacement plug-in relays for LED lights.

if your bike has a separate flasher relay then you simply replace the standard relay
and for bikes that have relays built into other electronics (like a lot of Suzuki's do)
there's more expensive 1's that sort this too

but there's "how to's" out there to help you sort it if a plug-in relay does not exist for your bike.

Isn't that what Steelie just posted?

No theyre the cheap ones that last 2 minutes Steve. Carl seriously get a motrax one ANY good bike accesories shop will have them on the shelp, J&S, Carnells, Hein Gericke, most dealers etc. Why arse about soldering resistors in to save a couple of quid when all you need is the right flasher unit that you can change in under 10 seconds, and put it back to standard when you sell it.

apologies. i stand corrected. steelie is right.

i've not installed 1 of these relays on my own bike
(i opted for tiny iridium indicators instead coz didn't want to cut stock cables)

so i did a quick google to see if I had given bad advice
(nothing worse than giving somebody bad advice!)

and low and behold .... steelie is right, i had given bad advice
so I'm sorry for this guys.

however, i then stumbled upon this:
http://www.triumph-online.co.uk/triumph-dual-load-led-flasher-unit--led-flasher-relay-unique-flash-rate-fix-1961-p.asp

so maybe it is possible to find good quality plug-in relays for other bikes too?
