What is an evoscan?

I've been wondering for a while - What is an evoscan? If I had my Legnum "evoscanned" what would it tell me.

A piece of software that can display your ecu's parameters in a real time basis.

I use it to check knock, octane level, timing advance. It can also show throttle position, battery voltage, barometric pressure, water temp, air temp etc.
