I need to buy a new battery for the VR2. I had a Varta Asia for a few years, worked perfect, then it got switched between cars and I got ended up with a tiny worthless piece a battery which just isn't right for the car both in capacity as in working and size.

So I'm looking for a proper capacity, full sized, high quality battery. And I'd like it to be black. The mentioned Varta Asia was black but nowadays Varta batteries are blue...

Anyone got some advice on this?

NJ might shout 'use search' but check out thread by HMG1K re battery replacement...

I've read that thread, and I seems like a perfect fit for our cars. But it's not black...

Ahh...

Not noticed colour, just quality, performance and service from supplier...

Guess you search goes on...

Find black but compromise on other criteria...?

Try Exide brand. Never let down by ones.

Why not buy the battery and just paint/spray/colour the plastics? You could even colour the battery to match your engine bay colour scheme. The battery isnt the biggest item to colour and should be easy enough. That way you get the battery you want and the looks you want too.

I think the one I have in the Evo is an Energizer.....heavy duty and black.

Exide are very good and have a good reputation in the marine world. Tayna normally quite competitive.

Well... nothing turned up. I emailed 2 UK companies about transport to NL, but neither responded. So I bought an ugly silver/blue Bosch battery and painted it black.
