I am after some expert help from anyone who has fitted a rear bearing to a legnum please guys.

i ordered some rear bearings from the USA to save a hell of alot of money, and these have arrived today but i am a little worried as they look nothing like the pics on the camskill site.

basically they look like just a bearing to me without the drive plate which has the 5 studs for bolting the wheel to(please bare with me as i havent got a clue if there are specific names for all these parts).

if you look at this link to the camskill site
http://www.camskill.co.uk/products.php?plid=m22b0s1401p7083

the part i have looks like the back end of the above part but as i said without the studded part.

so i need to know if it is possible to split my original hub and bearing apart to fit the studded part to the new bearing or am i taking out of my arse and splitting the parts cannot be done?

any help in this matter is very mch appreciated as i need to know now rather than taking the rear of the car apart to find it is not possible.

Sounds like you have just ordered the Bearing itself.. The camskill unit is the Hub assembly..

If i'm right then you will have to get the old bearings pressed out and the new 1's pressed back in...

It is if you got the correct equipment(which i guess u haven't /Hmmm ) 1 of these below in the pic.
It can be whacked out /Help
But best just take the Rear Hubs and the New bearings round to a local garage and ask them to Press the old 1's out and the new 1's in.. Shouldn't charge much and is only 5-10 min job..

Cheers

If it saves you all the hassle, I have a set of rear hubs for sale with the bearings still attached /yes

But as you have already bought the bearing you need, its probably better to just get your current bearing pushed out and fit the new one.

sorry pal, been away for a week and just seen your reply to this post. i had help on locating these from one of the guys on here, well to be honest he found them for me, top man.
here is the ebay link for you, found it better to buy 2 as postage was a little cheaper than buying seperatly.
the seller was a bit of an a**e when i wanted to question him on his ad title but the bearings i recived were the right ones and with the press the old came out ok and the new ones went in a treat.

no probs, but remember as mentioned above these are just the bearings and not thw hole assembly like you would get from the likes of camskill etc. the old bearings will need to be pressed out and new ones you order pressed in. if you have a nice mech mate like i do it makes it so much easier.
and on the ebay link if you buy 2 then the postage is not doubled by only goes up slightly for the 2nd bearing.

Cheers for the help spm01. I opted for the hub in the end as I really want to sort these over the bank holiday & i'm hoping that this will sort my dodgy abs sensors at the same time

Surely theres a number stamped on the bearing, and using that, we could maybe find a UK / EU supplier?

not sure to be honest pal, didnt really look but i seem to remember there may have been. maybe kryton can have a look when he replaces his and let the forum know and see what we can sort.
