hi folks just an update to those with the 7203FA chipset.these ecus can now be remapped with ecuflash.testing has been carried out on the ACD ecu on evo8s and evo 6 later ecus with this chipset and all have been sucessful.

thanks for posting it up.you will need the OP2.0 cable as im sure most legnum/VR4 owners will have.its a beta version of ecuflash so be sure and read the disclaimers before attempting this.

This is great news, it would be now a lot easier to source a reflashable ecu for all of us. I can sell my Haltech E11.

Awesome. Do you know if my ECU helped?
I read on another forum Colby didn't actually have an ECU with the problem, so sent him mine... 18 Days ago it reached him. :D

I'm not sure but I think it's more to do with the development of the ACD reflash work going on for the Evo 7-9

Cool. Is there an easy way to determine which chipset you have i.e build date, or do you have to open up the ecu case?

Hello.I have 7203FA proc in my vr-4, and when i try flash ECU vith beta EcyFlash 1.43 and OP 2.0 i have errors in flash ,so the ECU is not working fine!

have you done any readout from ecu and saved it beforehand? you always need to do it prior to making any changes. sometimes ecuflash does that even due to fact you're flashing 7202. restart connection, ecuflash load default firmware that you have saved from your car, flash it. assuming you have proper xml it should work after few attempts.
folks, first of all do not even think about starting the engine after incorrect flash. depending on which addresses inside your ecu firmware the changes were intended ecuflash will cause the whole block (or in most cases blocks) of data to be corrupted!

ppl do not flash your 7203 with todays ecuflash version cause most of you could suffer consequences, since many won't have any spare ecu you will render your car unable to drive and it might even lead to severe engine damages.

NOTE TO USERS TRYING TO WRITE TO 7203FA ECUS

make sure you modify the xml files so that the memory model has H8539FA and not just H8539F or you may brick the ecu.

I tryed write to the ecu.
What exactly i have to modify in my xml?when you open the xml in wordpad or open office find where it says memory model it should say H8539f you need to change it to H8539fa.make sure your using the beta test version of ecuflash and are using the ACD/H8539FA dropdown to read/write.ill post a screenshot of what i mean.

:mexicanwav MH7203 Successfully flashed for VR4 :mexicanwav , have been logging data since last monday, so far so good, enhanced spark maps, enhanced fuel maps, speed limiter off, + a few added extra's

So Guy's, theres a lot more work to be done but it's CONFIRMED the MH7203 is do-able......
