Hi all,

I wondered if anyone electrically minded here could recommend a particular switch that will a switch to close a circuit for a defined length of time. It is to be used in conjunction with a button so that it makes contact then waits 25 ms before it breaking the circuit; the ultimate aim is that when activated, it always makes contact for 25ms regardless of how long it is pushed for.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated, as I have had a look around but not been successful

Cheers

Derek

I supply timer relays for compressors used onboard ships. They are commonly made by ABB, Omron and a few others.

I'm sure there will be something more compact out there, this is just one that I happen to have in stock.

I just googled for "off delay time relay" and came up with this.

http://relays.tycoelectronics.com/datasheets/SST.pdf

It's an industrial relay that plugs into a base but could be OK.

Do a search for '555 timer circuits', there's plenty about. Dead easy to put together with parts from Maplin.
