This is not intended to be a for sale thread nor is the car anything to do with me other than I have the misfortune to work with the owner!
Anyway, he has decided that (at 21 years of age) a Subaru Impreza WRX 2.0 turbo is not for him due to the high running cost eating into his beer and socialising funds.
I haven't driven the car but it seems to go OK as he turns up for work in it every day.
I don't know how much these cars go for because I've never liked the look of them and haven't any interest in them.
I told him that I'd put a link to his advert on here (more as a favour to anyone in the club who may be interested rather than from any concern or loyalty to my work colleague).
Just thought I'd give anyone interested a heads up.
He told me that his reserve is set to £3100 however if somebody wants it after viewing then he can end the e-bay auction early. Personally, I think he is stupid enough to take the first reasonable offer he gets. He is quite naiive concerning cars and very naiive regarding life in general.
Here goes:-

Hmmm.... just read his advert and trust me, unfortunately he IS still employed!
Oh, almost forgot: there are 6 watchers, not that this means much really from my experience of e-bay.

Naughty to pass on some of this info but if someone on here is interested then it could be useful as, again, I have no loyalty to the seller.

Not a bad price. Unusual colour for a Scoob. Have to agree though, they're not
cheap to run. Not much different on fuel than a manual VR4.

He said he's had a couple of people asking him why it is cheap. I dunno 'cos I've no idea what they're going for. He just wants to get a cheapo runabout and he's not got much going on upstairs so it could end up being a bargain if that's your thing.

I've asked him a few times, since he got it, to let me have a drive but he always cries off with some excuse. I reckon he's scared I'll tell him how slow it is!!! (Did you see what I did there Nick???)

He came into work one day and said to me "Al, have a look at my new tattoo. I've had my date of birth done in Roman numerals."
He lifted up his top and showed me his tattoo which was (and still is) in 2 inch high lettering across his stomach and side.
"What, you were born in 1982? So you're 27 now?" I said.
"No, 1988, I'm 21." He said with a puzzled expression.
"Well according to that you were born in 1982, pal!" I sniggered.
He thought I was winding him up and went around asking anyone and everyone if they understood Roman numerals. Many a chuckle was heard on that day.
The idiot now has MCMLXXXIIIV on his gut (which isn't even correct as it should be MCMLXXXII) instead of MCMLXXXVIII.
He didn't even pursue it with the tattoo shop!

Did anyone on here bid on or win this then?
Apparently he noticed some smoke in the engine bay at the weekend and he's been told the exhaust manifold gasket is leaking. No biggie 'cos it's in the garage for repair tomorrow.
If you did win it then 'phone him up 'cos he was going on about ending the auction early this evening and I persuaded him to let it run as there were over 30 watchers. Funny how it went for the reserve price! He's also got a few people coming to view it at the weekend so be prepared for him trying to pull a fast one.
