Hi all

Im giving my VR4 a service tomorrow and just wondered about a few things

Hi Lee
Yep you need to fill it through the dipstick , it holds around 11-13 litres of ATF , they like AMSoil ATF the best . if you drop the sump you only get around 5-6 litres out but there is a method in the member section that shows you how to do a full flush
Cheers NJ

/Welcome1
Well worth doing the full flush and change procedure. Even Mitsi only drop the contents of the sump, leaving what's in the gearbox internals in situ!

They actually only hold about 10 litres, but the flush needs anything from 10-15 litres, depending on how manky your current oil is.
There are a lot of how tos in the members area explaining the oils needed and how to change them.

Yes - £20 for one year. If you want to put Amsoil in your gearbox then that's a good investment. It also gets you discounts in a couple of places, reduced entry costs to events etc.

Just a quick add on go this(as it's current)
Haven't got an Autobox anymore but had many enjoyable years with it /yes
To reduce costs of ATF change. Is there any reason not to use 5 litres of a cheaper ATF for the flush?
Same as I use 5litres of Multigrade oil @ 6quid to rinse out all
the crap(2x2.5l flushes) before putt
ing in the Top Spec oil.
I know the changing of the ATF is a different technique to engine oil change. but if it can be achieved, then can only be good for all concerned /Hmmm
Cheers
