ive been looking at a 52 plate vr4 and realized that the car tax brackets have been changed as of the budget just gone.looking on the DVLA website though the price hasnt gone up as i thought it would.are the emissions pretty good on the VRs then?

Dont quote me on this, but I believe all VR4's regardless of being 'official Ralliart imports' or 'grey imports' will fall under the one tax band. The car has no UK type approval, which is why we are unable to import them if they are newer than 10 years old.

Because the car has no type approval (of which part of the data will list its official CO2 and emmisions details), the car is taxed based on the engine size.

This is my understanding for the time being, but I could be wrong. Anyone else confirm or deny?

Pretty much on the money there, Atik.

A 2003 VR-4 is indeed still £195 tax a year.

As for the emissions - well, it would definitely be in the top band!
