Question:

Is there a diffrence in the ecu of the vr4 between a manual and a automatic?

At present, I understand that it's the same ECU, and it adapts automatically to which car it's connected to.

oh that would be nice.

The wiring/loom is that one diffrent?
(i mean, does it give me problems with connecting, because i got a manual transmission and it is possible that i got a automatic loom (if there is a diffrence)

Connectors are the same. But you'll probably will have problems with TCL and ASC...

TCL = traction control?
ASC = stability control?
I'm going to do a swap and its going to be a vr2 so i dont think that would mind if they dont work ;)

When I did mine I completely rewired it. However, my first ecu was from an auto. It always gave the CEL (check engine light) when I replaced it with an ecu from a manual - no more CEL. (except when it should do)

Can you tell me how i can see at the ecu if its from a manual or a auto? (serial number or something)

Vee - the CEL was presumably due to it not being able to find the TCL / ASC?

is there a sticker with 4 large numbers on the side of the ecu? - If there is...
0289 = auto
0288 = manual

Quite possibly - never really researched it much TBH. Once swapped problem went.

Thanks for the info,
Tonight going to see what ecu i got (so i'm prepared if the CEL is going to light up ;) )

Oke, got the auto ecu :(
Ah well hope we can fix the CEL with some resistors,
Hope we're not gonna get a lot of problems with swapping ;)
