Surely this would be the obvious choice

Much harder to find, and practically zero aftermarket support (in comparison to say, an LS1 or SBC).

Is it a transverse V8!? That'd be fun! Stick a pair of TD05s on it, and destroy drivetrain components for fun :D

Probably not, the Mitsubishi Proudia appears to be RWD! Although it does use the INVECS-II autobox...

The idea of a V8 powered Leggy has always appealed... I reckon the car needs an audi R8 or maybe a TVR V8 growl to match it's looks!

After the twin td04s or TD05 conv, V8 conversion next? :D

Also, no one appears to have mentioned that the 8A80 is a GDI!!! Although admittedly this does mean more power than if it wasn't.

The later versions used by Hyundai were converted to MPI. :smart:

Oh, OK. That makes sense since Hyundai only ever made the block, and Mitsubishi made all the GDI parts, which it no longer makes at all anymore. Wikipedia makes it sound like it was discontinued after GDI.

I suspect the AYC may not cope too well with RWD V8 power..

Not with the RWD, but with 4WD it'd be epic :D

I reckon you'd be best to fit a 6G74 from a Pajero EVO rather than an 8A80. Would be kind of cool though :)
