Hi all just wondered if there were any previous or current GT4 owners about? Just come back from a quick blat in one that a pal is serious about buying. I believe the one I just came out of was a 96 model and fairly std apart from boost controller. The acceleration cornering and braking was mind boggling. I didn't realise that they were such demons! although I do remember seeing saints and kankkunen flying them through various forest stages. Can any owners comment on running costs, parts availability. what kinda power can be had before serious money needs to be spent? are the blocks and running gear fairly reliable?

thanks guys.

cheers.

They are OK & good for handling but not normally excessively quick as only 205 bhp. If the one you drove was mega fast, chances are its been played with (which is expected for this type of car) but just check the usual things & also modified ones have a tendency to overheat in my experience. Lovely looking car & nice to drive plus should be very reliable as long as it hasn't been modified on a shoe string.

I always saw them as underpowered boats tbh. Don't know how they managed to make such a small car weigh 1500kg. The ST205s are a bit better though, about 250bhp stock.

96 model should be about 240bhp and the pop up light model is only just 200bhp.pitty there so heavy ,sweet looking car.buddy puts pure coolant with no water in his and it stopped that overheating for him
