Random Switch found under seat

Was doing a bit of investigation under the seats in the Legnum and I have discovered a black switch attached to a blue wire under the passanger seat. It has two settings the only one marked is OFF so I assume the other is On.

This may have someting to do with the unidentified metal case maybe 8x4x2 Inches that Peter Thomson removed from behind the passenger footwell. Same colour cable (also the same as the wire that goes to some sort of door open sensor on the hood).

Switching the switch had no obvious affects.

Guess it could also be part of the MMCS.

Any thoughts?

Could be a switch to some sort of burglar alarm

That would explain why there is a cable to a "hood open" swith

Thats a thought. Its probably worth noting that the switch for the hood looked factory fitted.
