/Welcome

Do you have a magic postcode?! Insurance quotes will vary widely anyway, but I will admit that looks a bit high. Although Adrian Flux really should know what they're doing with these.

You could try Sky Insurance for a quote (they have a banner ad on here and occasionally pop on the forums too!). People have also had results from Lifesure.

Your membership number will appear once Jane (MRS HJM) has allocated it.

I will be doing memberships over the weekend and then your number will appear under your username as your membership ID /yes

Hi and welcome Chip,

That price is a bit steep, I just insured with Adrian Flux, I'm 27 with 3 years no claims, £940 fully comp. It could be that you're under 25.

As Nev says, try with Sky Insurance, when you phone up say you're a Club VR4 member and you get a discount (presuming we still get it).

Most ins company's have a 25 year old thang where they will not insure people for certain cars if they are under 25. (Total bollocks really as, if you are 28 and have passed your test over a year ago but have not driven a car, you are 28 and have held a licence for a year., and you will get a better quote than a 24 year old with 7 years experience and 5 years no claims, not fair).
Try Ollie at SKY insurance.
When is your birthday as by the time you get a VR-4 and get sorted, you may be 25 and get a much better quote, worth asking about. good luck, and welcome :)

hi and welcome.

i found that my insurance went down massively when i hit 30.

but the main factor is post code. i would swap mine with almost anyone. i have had one insurance company that said they would not insure any Manchester post code no matter what. i live in quite a nice bit of sale in Manchester. but it is neighboured by some dodgy areas and that pushes it cost up massively. i am 36 with fully comp protected with full no claims (3 points though) which cost me £30 extra) and it costing me about £720.
