Been looking around to see what I could find, best one so far seems to be the 7" panel at DealExtreme. Has VGA input with 800x480 native resolution, which is not bad for a little screen. $77.10USD

7" TFT Screen (http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.22660)

Also there is a touch-screen mod for it as well for $36.59USD
7" Touch Screen Mod (http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/SKU.12561)

So that comes out to about $160NZD (90 Euro), which is not bad for something like that. Just wondering what (or if) anyone else has used or sourced.

Bonus is free shipping, although it can take up to about 4 weeks if not in stock.

I considered bigger but it gets more and more awkward to place as you increase size. Looking to use it more for Evoscan/logging and general GPS/MP3 player etc.

I bought a screen from JayCar for $400, touchscreen built in already. Think they are now discontinued though.

Good luck getting 800x480 working right - I had so many issues I just use 800x600 and cope with the slight distortion.

They are sunlight readable LCD's normally with 4mm anti-glare glass. Search on google. Carputer search pull up a lot of them. Example link below:
