View Full Version : Have a knocking noise - front bendy arm.....

Hi, have a rather bad knocking noise on the VR4, sounds about the same that I had on my v6 the other month and now I believe that it is the same part, the front nearside arm, not the straight one, those have been done, but the bendy one (it has a fair bit of play in it when pressure is applied). Now, Main stealer are wanting £196 (possibly +vat? can't remember) :violin:

Camskill only sell genuine Mitsi suspension arms now and are wanting £130 with the vat. Hmm still a lot. Euro car parts can supply me one for £85+vat.

Now.... My question is: It's my understanding that aftermarket versions of this arm are not prone to failing like the straight lower arm, is this correct and if so, does anybody have any ideas where I may be able to source one for a cheap as possible?

Thanks

I don't know of any catastrophic failures of these arms. Try other motor factors around you - I think they should be less than that somewhere.

CES do them, £65.74

Hmm, had to Google them, they're based in the midlands and northwest I see, no good for me. But I phoned their sales dept and they do delivery fairly reasonably, but when I gave them the Mitsi part number they said that they would have to order that in direct form Mitsi. I mentioned that you said that they have them for £65 she said she will search on another system and get back to me in the morning :)

Anyway, assuming that VAT needs to go on top of that, brings it to £77 with delivery still to be added at approx £6 I think she said so that would still be the cheapest quote I have had so far. But will do some proper ringing round tomorrow.

Cheers

Ordered one today from a local parts company who managed to find one for £56 with the VAT.

Happy with that.

She is going well , fix one thing then somethin else comes up!

The best way to describe the vr4 is every time I have bought a car in the past within a month I'm looking on to the next with the leggie I can't think of what is better? Only look to saving for a manual or improving what I have already!!!

It's the best midlife crisis car going !!

Then I met the unaffordable evo estate maybe I will afford one in 13 years time lol

Has there ever been a poll done on how many and what cars other members have owned since passing drivin tests I bet there are some secrets to come out.....
