fitting in what way Karl , they normaly just slide on if you got the correct size
I have heard of hair spray helping it slide on and grip

cool just that some of which seem a little awkward to get at init guess i will have to bring out the swear jar init

Yeah I always find that liberal application of the swear jar works wonders :D

If you're talking about getting the old hoses off:

Get a set of mole grips set a few mm larger than the diameter of the barb, then use them to grip the hose around the barb, and rotate the hose around the barb.

It should come off a LOT easier after that. It's very important you are gentle, so as not to damage the barb, though!!!
