Automatic shift button...

guys..

im no techy so i dont really know.. but when jaime got home she jumped into her car... but the button normally used to change from park to drive was stuck.. she couldnt push it in to change gears..

some people she spoke to said it couild be an electrical problem.. but im sure that wouldnt stop the button from being pressed would it?

so just now she is unable to move her car.. its a Mitsubishi Lancer ES.. I had a quick look on Google, but was unable to find anything...

any ideas?

With the VR-4 you have to put your foot on the brake then press the button then shift, I don't think it is electronic but some of the guys who changed their knobs may know.
Is it jammed? if it's jammed then try pressing it hard and repeatedly and move around.
If it works by pressing your foot on the brake, the linkage between may be a problem.

it might be something to do with your security alarm or immobiliser ?? just a guess...
