Hi guys,
ive found the guide how to remove the center console..from memory there was also a guide on how to remove the cover (some are chrome) that surrounds the auto , that bit that say P-R-N-D

Im keen to fix that bit of thin plastic that the shifter goes threw.....its driving me crazy..

There are 2 screws at the front of the surround but they are below the main dash. You need to drill holes above these to access the screws or remove the whole dash. You won't see these holes when the surround is back in place

:iagree:

And it's a lot simpler than removing the whole dash!

You should be able to see where the two screws are. It's just that you can't get anything on them without drilling the holes above.

Are there any pics of this stunt?

So there's no need to remove anything else? other then the lid that surrounds the auto to do this...

Or put a soldering iron through it like I did when I didn't have a drill handy :upsidedow

Just pull the gear surround up with a flat tip screwdriver then you need to take the whole arm rest and drink holder bit off to undo the rear screws of the PRND bit, and the front screws are under a horizontal bit of plastic, you should be able to see them if you look at the right angle. I don't think you have to take the side panels off from memory.
