AYC fault when cold

Recently in the mornings (its getting colder) when I start the car up the red AYC light and the green bars come up, then go off with the other lights. After I drive about 50m down the road the red AYC comes up and stays on. If I stop straight away, turn the engine off and then on it disappears for the rest of the day.

Is it the pump getting weaker? or does anyone else have similar problems in the cold..

Normally get this problem when the weather gets warmer. I certainly supply
more switches in the early summer here in the UK.
