I want to get a set of 17" and haven't a clue where to start (I only drive the Beast!). Looked on a couple of web sites and they go on about 6", 7" and all sorts of other things that I don't now about. Can someone tell me exactly what I need to ask (look) fo please?

I have a 225/45 R17 Tyres on mine. I believe this is about 7" wide. Get a style of alloys you are happy with that can take 225/45 R17. Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 if you can. These have good reveiws both here on the club and multiple magazines.

225/45 R17 is almost equivalent to stock diameter, so you shouldn't have any problems.

HI there,
Have a llok at this website, it gives a lot of useful info on wheel and tyre sizes, and offset and inset etc, all explained here, you should try to stay close to the overall diameter of your standard set up, otherwise your speedo may noy give you a correct reading, but it is all on this link, cheers Louis

Thanks guys - So it would seem 225/45/R17 - GY F1's. What is the impact of 7 vs 7.5 inch width.

(When I mentioned to the girlfriend I was upgrading to 17" with 7" width she fell off her chair!) :rolleyes5
