Blown oil seal?

Just a side note from my earlier thread im panicking about the possibility of a blown oil seal? I drove the car probably about 40 miles before smoke started pouring out.....

Is this fatal if one has gone? I've got someone coming to take a look with a view to buying at the weekend so to say I am shi**ing it is an understatement!

not sure. id drain some oil out or do a complete change & see how it goes. it might've been burning off some of the excess in the sump & thats what you saw. in saying that though, im sure you'd know about it if a seal DID blow out...

Hmm well im draining the lot this weekend so see how it goes....
